I am Lorian Gordon. Having gone through two brain surgeries years ago, I knew my life was completely in God's hands. Facing my second brain surgery, it was very difficult on my mom seeing what I was going through. She looked at me as if I were not going to survive. Looking into her fear-filled eyes, it was the loneliest time in my life. I thank The Lord that throughout my surgeries He was always by my side giving me His Peace.
As depression and hopelessness are quite prevalent among cancer patients, our Comfort Purses and Bro Bags offer comfort and Hope by encouraging them with inspirational books, uplifting word finder books, coloring / etching books with pencils, journals, sleep masks for chemo, CD & DVD, hat, scarf, slipper socks, water bottle and many other comforting items.
My husband Dave and I provide our Comfort Purses and Bro Bags to Providence St. Joseph Hospital, City of Hope Cancer Center, Hoag Cancer Center Irvine, Hoag Cancer Institute Newport Beach, Todd Memorial Cancer Center, and Los Alamitos Hospital Infusion. The Nurse Navigators and Social Workers then give our Comfort Purses and Bro Bags to their patients. This has been very effective in softening the reality of their diagnosis and opening the lines of communication. Through our Comfort Purses and Bro Bags, our desire and passion is to help make their
difficult days more bearable.
